NEKO
Lesson 9 of 15 · 3 min read

Price impact and slippage

Impact = your trade moving the price. Slippage = how much movement you'll accept.

Price impact is how much your own trade moves the price. Big trades in small pools have big impact. NEKO Swap shows it in red above 3%.

Slippage is how much the price is allowed to move while your swap is on its way. If it moves more, the swap is cancelled and refunded. Low slippage protects you; too low and swaps can fail in busy markets.

The Minimum received line is the least you'll get, after slippage.

🎯 Try it yourself

Set slippage to 0.5%, then swap some NEKO back to NEAR

Pick 0.5% under Slippage limit before you click Swap. Small amounts are perfect. Every swap counts toward your free Swap Feline.

Quick check

Your swap shows 12% price impact. What's the smart move?

  1. ASwap anyway, it's fine
  2. BTry a smaller amount
  3. CRaise slippage to 20%

B: Try a smaller amount. High impact means you're getting a much worse price. Smaller trades move the price less.
