Bridges and chain abstraction

Bridges and NEAR Intents bring other chains' assets to your NEAR account.

Tokens from other blockchains can live on NEAR through bridges, like BTC or ZEC. You can swap them here like any other token.

NEAR goes further with chain abstraction: NEAR Intents lets you say what you want ("swap my NEAR for BTC") and solvers do it across chains, and chain signatures let one NEAR account control addresses on other chains.

The idea: you shouldn't have to care which chain you're on.

🎯 Try it yourself

Swap 0.3 NEAR into a cross-chain asset

ZEC, WBTC or nBTC all count. Small amounts are perfect. Every swap counts toward your free Swap Feline.

Quick check

What does chain abstraction aim for?

  1. AUsing many chains without thinking about them
  2. BShutting down other blockchains
  3. CMaking NEAR slower but safer
Show the answer

A: Using many chains without thinking about them. The goal is one simple experience, whatever chain the assets are on.
