Gas: why fees are tiny

Gas is the small NEAR fee for running a transaction. Keep about 0.1 NEAR for it.

Every transaction uses a little computing power, paid for with gas in NEAR. On NEAR that's usually well under 0.01 NEAR, even for a swap.

A fun fact: 30% of the gas you spend on a smart contract goes to the developer of that contract, as a built-in reward for building useful apps.

Tip: always keep about 0.1 NEAR in your account so you can pay for gas.

🎯 Try it yourself

Make your first swap: 0.5 NEAR to USDC

Approve it in your wallet and look at how little gas it costs. Small amounts are perfect. Every swap counts toward your free Swap Feline.
